HVAC technicians
Corporate or independently employed heating, ventilation and air conditioning technicians enjoyed expanded regional opportunities commensurate with the growth of Placer and surrounding counties.
Automotive technicians
Dealership and independent employers have an expanding need for employees with backgrounds in Mechatronics due to the complex control systems employed in modern vehicles. Engine control, anti-lock braking, air bag deployment, personal comfort control and entertainment systems all use Mechatronics principles. This need will continue to expand with the mandated implementation of hybrid vehicles.
Automated consumer equipment
This broad area of equipment spans a wide range of industries such as ATM equipment, point-of-sale terminals, vending machines, copy machines and gaming equipment. Technicians are required to install, configure, maintain and repair these complex Mechatronics equipment. Preventative maintenance is important for the reliable operation of the machines. Diebold and NCR are employers in the Sacramento region who hire these technicians.
